I dunno about how much it would have helped. I know that from what Ive read it would have made companies more likely to hire since the current labor laws require contracts etc that make it a huge pain in the ass to fire someone.

Unemployment among youths there is shit. Plus the french have a rational schedule which they don't work as hard as Americans or Canadians. Their outputs for the economy is the biggest problem.
