Nyck, support the new bill going through Michigan to repeal sales tax on gas if it goes over $1.95 a gallon. Michigan is one of the only states to have sales tax on gas above and beyond the other taxes on the gas. Write your elected officals. Ill forward more info to you if you want it

i saw something about gas prices in relation to state and federal taxes on fox news
while gas station attendants make only 14 cents per gallon at around 2.19/gallon, gov't taxes are almost 50 cents per gallon
they were saying the gov't is playing on the ignorance of the american ppl and making us think its the gas companies (which i still think it is partially), but its actually just as much our gov't's fault
then an argument over what we should do about it ensued and neither the libs or the cons had anything useful or realistic to offer up

the gas companies are the ones who are pulling in the big $$$, not the goverment or the gas stations themselves. Sure the goverment brings in money but in canada at least, it is called a "road tax" which goes into public transportation and road repairs.

isnt that because they tax it more? I thought it was sold for the same price all over and it is up to the Govts to tax the living crap out of it

Do you honestly expect them to give more than $100 per person? That's nearly $1 billion they are handing out.
