Have u ever made up a lie so you didnt have work that day? -

I just did today, and I never do this, but I hate this fucking job. I quit a week ago and I stil gotta give in my two weeks notice.
My shift was 9-6 today
I woke up at 7:45am... turned my alarm off and said fuck it they dont pay me enough to deal with retarded bitchy customers on a busy weekend and went back to sleep. I woke up again at about noon. Saw that my co worker left me a message on my phone saying "Where are you? you're suppose to be in now, actually you were suppose to be in two hours ago, and I dont appreciate you not answering my call, call me back"
So i just texted him back with a lie saying " Hey man, I fell down the stairs this morning, as I was getting ready to leave for work. Im in the hospital right now"
an hour and a half later I texted him again saying "The doctor said I have a severly pinched nerve in my back. and it hurts like a bitch, i Just got home now, and I dont think Ill be able to come in tomorrow either"
and just five minutes ago, I actualy called him to tell him what's up, and he got all pissy at me oh well, fuck that place
I work in a retail department store which I cant bear anymore. Ive lasted 5months, Luckily I sti have my other part time job which has always been there for me and Ill never quit it. been there for over 2 and a hlaf years
I made this thread on genmay, but it got locked, fuck I hate that place.

lol @ "being in the hospital"
I skipped a few lessons/classes but never made any excuses like being in the hospital lol I just said I had a bloody nose and couldn't get in.

I used to lie like that all the time at work and get away with it - but my lies tended to be more convincing....I mean "I fell down the stairs" has been the most typical 'cover' excuse since like forever. Even women that get beaten by their husbands use that one to explain the bruises.

I used to do that all the time. I hated my job, my X wanted to do stuff when i was getting ready for work. So id call in and id enjoy the day off. Bosses would always try to convince you to come in "oh, so your sick, well do you think you could tough it out?" "Oh no, im just not feeling good at all, id do more harm than good"... Etc. Eventually my bosses gave up trying to convince me and would just accept that i wasnt go to show up if i called. So i had some fun with it. My best "im sick" was; "yeah i cant come in, im in a coma." After a little period of silence she said, "well feel better".

Did it all the time..when I worked at Don's must have done it 10 or so times maybe even more. Did it only 3 times when I worked as a dishwasher at a fancy hotel..was making 11 bucks a hour so I couldn't complain.

not since I was working at this new job, seeing as I see her the most at my part time job... we dont really get to hang out much. seeing has she now has 3 jobs and goes to night school. Dunno why she does all that. but whatever.
but now I will see her more often at work as Ill be working more hours there because I quit my other one.
but honeslty, Working that bullshit job, had really open my eyes, there is no way I want to do that shit for the rest of my life even if I was the manager. I gotta get back to school.

IVe pulled the "Family Emergency" one so I could go see my Ex. IVe also done the "Im too sick to even stand up" when I was hungover. I dont see why bosses give you a hard time. If you're sick thats why you have sick days. If you're not sick, you have sick days to take off anyways.
And buck, if yo ualready told them you quit, then there isnt much they can do to make you come in and you shouldnt feel any guilt at all.
