Default DVR Question - 07-02-2006, 11:14 AM

My dad recently got a new widescreen LCD tv and HD cable as well as our cable company's DVR service...Now my question is if I can somehow get the video I record on the DVR to my computer in a format that I can watch in on my PC or burn it on a DVD or something like that?

Some of you may remember that video I posted of a high school baseball player leaping over the catcher into home, well I just saw it on Sportscenter and I want to transfer it to my computer so I can upload the Sportscenter segment to youtube as well as burn a copy on a DVD....Is that possible?

I have one and it works flawlessly. The only pain is that you have to hook up your pc to the tv to capture.

I use my laptop to catch the video, then wirelessly transfer it to my pc for editing.

The picture and sound quality is very good. And this is the lower end model of the ADS line.

im not sure if your dvr allows this but why dont you just copy your recorded video to a dvd-ram disc and then easily copy it onto a pc? I once recorded something to my dvr disc and then just copied it to my pc. If you need the file extension in which the dvr video is located on the dvd ram, just ask

I think you have the wrong "DVR" I'm talking about cable tv here, not a DVD burner...

Now if you read my reply you will be able to do exactly what you are asking. Record from the TV to your pc, and if need be, to dvd.
