the McDonalds thread got me thinking about my first job. i was 12 and I worked at a pet store cleaning crap out of cages. It was a fun job because I got to play with all the critters but it also sucked because all the critters crap all the time!!$1.00 an hour!!!!! rock:

Waiter at a fancy retirement home. Every week you'd have new patrons because the old ones died. |

 Dishwasher...
hated it at first, but then slowly realised it was awesome because , as a fat kid, I got free foods n drinks, easy ass hours, tipped sometimes and payed 10 bucks an hour. Half the time I wasn't even doing anything other then farting round with the other dishwashers playing stupid games.

I got a job at a Thai restaurant doing dishes. Boring as fuck, nobody ever came to the restaurant, so I sat around for 4 hours a day and ate creamcheesefakecrabmeat wontons and sometimes played with the cow brains in the freezer.

I've mowed a couple lawns this summer, and got $50 for one of them, but this asian dude seems to have taken over the entire neighborhood (as far as lawns go) and they all have him as their lawnmower already.

Industrial Trailer. They rent trailers (45-53 ft. semi trailers) to companies who then store stuff in the trailers. They had a huge yard with all the trailers, and I would basically do maintenance.
 Sweep out trailers
Paint entire trailer. (Only did it a couple times but it sucked ass)
Scrape and prime rusted metal around read doors
 Tar roofs where cracks were
Attach industrial trailer signs to the trailers

They also rented out those big cargo boxes you see on ships. I had to paint and clean up those suckers also.

I think I got $8 and hour and this was probably 8 or so years ago.

Worked good hours. 8-4:30 and got to be outside and get a tan all summer long. Not much supervision because I was trusted to do good work and basically got to work on my own fixing up the trailers.
