Default dvd rom drive not recognizing blank disc - 09-24-2006, 09:31 PM

thats the whole problem now. it wasn't nero or anything its that it's only recognizing my dvd rom disc (movies, dvd-r) and not my cd-r's. Anyone know what the problem may be? "Incd" is installed and running (it wasn't before) and it's still not working.

Try updating the firmware of your drive. If that doesn't work, maybe uninstall it, and reinstall it?

I don't really think his drive took a shit. If it did, it wouldn't bother reading DVD's. But for some reason, it's not reading CD's.

You waited all damn day for what? Also, if you have another PC around, maybe you can try removing the DVD drive from you current one, and install it in another PC to see if it works there.
