Hurricane Katrina evacuees -
09-23-2006, 11:59 PM
i met a view of them last yr but havent really noticed them around here as much as i used to. Are most of them really 'crooks and thugs' or is the same with the Islam/muslims....where only a "small" group of them are of radical islam. which in turn, ruin the entire bunch?

buy pampers, it funds my college tuition.
It is widely believed that the people who had to be rescued post Katrina, who did not evacuate before the hurrican struck, were mostly people hoping to loot. Whether its true or not is another matter, but I remember before the hurricane struck, somebody posted a video of a lone guy hanging out on an otherwise completely evacuated city street, and us all Lolling and joking about how he'd be dead.

well man alot of them didnt have ways out of the city ya know. Just imagine that shit happening in your town and you being told to leave but having no way out of the city. Now, surviving hurricanes im sure was no problem for them in the past so there mindset is still set on it being probaly a little more (power) than expected.... but who the the fuck could've imagined those damn levee's breaking in NO...

The people who were asked to leave may or may not had a means to do so. Do you think the mayor of that shit hole of a city could've used public transportation AND school buses to help move people out of the area? He dropped the ball as well.
Not to knock all the people from the area but it's a proven fact crime skyrocketed in areas where the evacuees fled to. Houston is dealing with a whole new set of problems since they hosted most of the evacuees. A bunch of new street gangs are popping up over there. I read a study in "U.S. News" that was really interesting about the crime movement out of New Orleans and into these other areas. Pretty fucked if you ask me.
Perhaps now is the time to buy real estate in New Orleans....lol.
Actually, i'm waiting for a catagory 4/5 to wipe out the coast of the Carolinas. Then i'm going there to buy a bunch of barren land.
The world is my urinal

i understand what you guys are saying about the crime rate going up in all these other areas BUT.. do you ever wonder why they're going up? These ppl from NO are extremely bitter about the way they were treated by their government, insurance co's and espescially bush. I liken it to the way Timothy Mcveigh felt about the whole wako tradegy. Yeah, it's that serious for some of them. Now im not saying that they will all become angry and take out extreme action such as terroism but it really wouldn't suprise me if that happened. Have you seen interviews with the residents, listended to their stories, seen the pain and hurt in their eyes as they recounted the entire incident in their heads to you... i have... the shit is sad, very.
