Default more stereotypes!!!! - 10-06-2006, 01:12 PM

[url:6f5e6]http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/6035332?FSO1&ATT=HMA[/url:6f5e6]

real article, with my handpicked quotes

[quote:6f5e6]Officers found a small amount of marijuana in the passenger side door of Pacer point guard Jamaal Tinsley's car, police said. Officers could not determine the car's driver or to whom the marijuana belonged, so no arrests were made.[/quote:6f5e6]
[quote:6f5e6]Tinsley and Daniels also had guns in their cars, and all three armed players had weapons permits, Mount said, although Daniels' permit was issued by Florida.[/quote:6f5e6]
[quote:6f5e6]Stephen Jackson of the Indiana Pacers was slugged in the mouth, struck by a car and fired a gun in the air in self-defense outside a strip club early Friday, police said.[/quote:6f5e6]

and the pacers are considered one of the NBA's "good" teams...

Those knuckleheads shouldn't be running around in clubs/bars with guns. Alcohol + Guns = Trouble

.....and who fires warning shots in the air? Thats complete recklessness on his part.

its not reckless unless someone is directly above them...the bullets terminal velocity is only abou 109mph, which isnt enough to kill. but i do agree with Alcohol + guns = instant asshole

I believe (I haven't seen the episode, just heard about it), that Mythbusters tested that, and found that bullets do indeed go fast enough to kill someone coming down after being fired into the air.

I think they found it to not be true but that doesnt mean you should fire in the air in a populated area

Anytime you shoot without knowing your backdrop is considered "reckless"......not to mention he did it "5 times".

Shouldn't be firing the weapon unless the intent is to put it in the center of mass.

Exactly. Just like keeping your finger out of the trigger well unless you intend on pulling it.

...

The bullets will return to the earth at the same velocity at which they left the gun. If loose change dropped from the Empire State Building can kill people, then bullets fired into the air certainly can.
