here's one for you chums.

accidently installed a harddrive from a pervious raid setup
fucked shit up
i tried to run the recovery cd, i would get corrupted or missing hal.dll
couldn't load recovery cd with any various combo of drives in place
flash bios
took a stick of ram out
loading recovery cd but crashing during the load of drivers

first off let me get a few things clear. the new harddrive was an old one, with a previous raid on it, or a new harddrive (blank) and you have a raid setup that you want to put on it?

if youre replaccing a hard drive...what kind of raid do you have?
If a striped raid aka raid-0 (zero) are the two drives identical?

If raid 0 and the drives arent identical, get a new drive.

Give me more details as to what kind of raid and drives etc and i can give you more info
