Nice Gerv, tho I'm a bit out on the computer lingo & graphics cards so I've no idea what that is but it looks mean!
My PC at home is 2ghz GF3 win xp 500mb ram & I thought I was uber leet. Now it's so out of date I can't even play bf1942 without lag. One of these days I'm gana buy a new PC & start gaming again- maybe... I wonder if a badazz laptop could handle new games?

How did you buy that gerv? All the reviews i've read haven't been very good. I love ATi also, but I think they hav etaken a shit with this one. Maybe better drivers will increase the performance, but as it stands now, for high res, I think 8800 wins hands down. And it's cheaper.
And what happens when the 2900xtx comes out? You gonna upgrade to that?

The performance problems so far seem to be totally driver related, guru 3d identified a bug where fsaa in game crippled performance, ati are aware of it and are working on a fix. The xtx will really be just 1 gig of ram and a slightly upped core speed, if ati shift to 65nm then it wont be as power hungry and possibly perform better, if that does happen ill sell this off and get the newer one (performance depending).
I was able to get the board working by disconnecting my dvd rom and 1 other hard drive so currently doing some testing. So far like guru 3d said im seeing a bug with performance in call of duty 2, x1900xt and 2900xt getting virtually the same performance.

Ok some benchmarks, theres a few that obviously shows that there has to be some kinda aa bug going on, all tests ran at 1920x1200 4xfsaa 16xhqaf: fx60 @ 2.8ghz
Company of Heroes Performance Test (demo version): Average 43,6 Min 17.4, Max 121.5 (x1900xt)

Doom 3 54.2 fps (x1900xt)
Doom 3 70.5fps (2900xt)
I dunno how reliable these are as i think the card is just barely geting enough juice to run, notice how company of heroes seems to love vista though. In the benches i done in xp the performance for the x1900xt didn't even break 100fps in coh.
