Default Help me out a little.. - 07-08-2007, 10:58 PM

i need a 360 and a new tv. I'm thinking of just getting an refurbished 360 pro from ebay or other websites. The tv is where i need the most help deciding on a brand/model. My budget for the tv is about 600-900 bucks. Has to be an hdtv(preferably 32 to 42 in) that won't become obselete in 3-5 yrs. I've been reading that 1080 p is the way to go as far as longevity and quality but im not sure if im willing to drop that extra $$ for that. I saw a nice tv on tigerdirect.com that was "720 native". Can someone explain what that is if different from 720p itself?

-Thanks

Ability of the eye to see 1080p

A person's ability to distinguish small details is described by visual acuity. When individual pixels are barely resolvable, increased resolution brings no benefit for the viewer, unless the viewing distance can be shortened. For many users television viewing distances, in order to see the full benefit from 1080p content a display must be bigger than usual or the viewing distance needs to be closer than usual. The ability of the eye to resolve 1080p content also depends on the amount of contrast in the picture. For optimum viewing of resolution it has been recommended that you sit back a maximum of approximately three times the height of your display [/quote:44d62]

720P is perfectly fine if you are sitting within 10 feet of your TV.
