Default Airborne delayed (who didn't see this coming?) - 08-02-2007, 12:05 PM

According to totalairborne.com its been delayed a few days till Sept 4th.

Have to agree with this post on their forums

[quote:068a4]The MP summit was it would now seem a very wise move as it highlighted so many missing features from the version of Airborne shown that were requested by the MOH community.

Why did it take an MP summit to highlight those missing features?
If EA were in fact listening to the community then how on earth did so many basic things get left out??

cuss:

Only a few days so its best they get the bugs out and add stuff that should have been a part of the game from the start. mad:

i was hoping it would be delayed like a couple months so i can get my new rig together at the same time all the good games come out. hoping i can wait it out to see the new x38 boards and the new nvidia cards and penryn. should be an interesting 4Q if all these things actually hit the market. also will get to see what amd has to offer of if they will still be wayyy off the mark.

Amd's barcelona is only gonna be coming out at low clock speeds inititally. Think the highest clock speed is a lowly 2ghz or so. eek:

The graphics division won't have their new card out till around jan\feb next year, the r700.

Think penryns main advantages are its native quad core (small performance boost over kentsfield -5% or so) and its on 45nm so should run cooler.

My kentsfield quad is a beast to cool, main reason why is im restricted by the actual case and the motherboard. The lian li v1k cases have the btx style upside down mounting but it slao places the socket side of the mobo close to the botom of the case, the case design is such that theres only a small gap betwen the end of the mobo and the bottom case panel.

Because of this mobo having a lower cpu socket than most and the case design im very restricted in what coolers i can install. Had a thermalright 120 ultra and couldn't install it in the proper orientation so had to mount it sideways with the fan blowing to the case bottom and the temps hit over 80c at 3.2ghz. Tried a few other coolers and not much luck, at the minute im using an artic freezer with a 120mm fan attached with velcro strips.

Be very wary about what mobo and case you get, my mobo is a p35 asus p5k, the other problem ive ran into is the sata connections, im toying with the idea of adding a second 2900 but the connectors on the board are right inline with the second pcie slot, so ive to get some low profile angled sata cables installed so the second card will fit. mad: Cards the 1gig ddr4 version rock:

i think nvidia is supposed to be coming out in november with 9800gtx...i think. 88 series is 8 months old or something like that.

the case i have picked out is huge. silverstone tj09. got a motherboard tray and you can fit the thermalright with the tray out and slide it in still with it on. thats how huge the case is.

yeah, now it's difficult for me to fit hhds in because my ati silencer is so huge its hard to plug in the sata connections.

don't worry, i'll run my rig by you before i build rock:
