Default Good deal on PC I found for sale? - 10-16-2007, 07:24 PM

I was browsing through some of my college "for sale" ads and came across this...not sure if I should upgrade, but inquired anyways.

Shuttle SD39P2 Small Form Factor
Intel Core2 Duo E6600 at 2.4Ghz
4GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 RAM
320GB Seagate 7200.10 SATA/300 Hard Drive
640MB eVGA GeForce 8800GTS
BenQ 1655DW DVD Burner
The case has a 400W power supply and the following features: -8-channel HD audio via ICH7R and Realtek ALC888 codec -6 USB 2.0 (rear) with headers for 2 more USB 2.0 (front) -1 1394a Firewire via VIA VT6308 (front) -1 1394a Firewire via VIA VT6308 (rear) -1 RJ45 10/100/1000 via Broadcom BCM5789 -1 eSATA Sound Ports: 1 analog front out 1 analog bass/center out 1 analog rear out 1 analog surround out 1 analog line in 1 analog mic in (front) 1 analog headphone out (front) 1 coaxial digital S/PDIF output 1 TOS-Link digital S/PDIF output 1 TOS-Link digital S/PDIF input

Currently have a Asus A8n SLI Premium mobo w/ AMD 3700+ cpu, 1gig ocz dual chan ram, evga 7800gt gfx card.

Guy built it a couple months back, wants $1200 for it. Good deal? Seems OK for the $$, but I'm not familiar w/ the processor or shuttle systems.

Shuttles you're lmited by the psu and space, when i had an sn25p shuttle with a 350 psu the 2900xt radeon refused to work, with a 400 watt psu it worked but barely and would shut the system down in games. Some cards wont fit into them either because of the cramped space, better off with a regular tower case, shuttle are just too limiting.

Yea, well I guess everything fits, since the guy has apparently been using the PC. But, now that you say it, the 400watt PSU doesn't seem like enough.

The psu in the shuttle is enough to run the gts and the gtx, 2900 though sucks up more power and wouldn't run properly.
