I just started using netflix, but I cant play dvds on my computer because apparently I need the newest video codec, which cost money. Is there one I can get that cost nothing and isnt a trial version?

Hmm, at a guess I would update your videocard driver and download VLC or Super. They're media players that play anything as they install the latest codecs for you. I could be wrong......but its free
