Default Opinions on sound mods - 09-25-2002, 02:33 PM

What's everyone's favorite sound mod???
I've been wanting to get a new sound mod for a while but I didn't want to learn each sound of each teams gun, you know.....if that person is an axis firing or an allie.

anyways, i need some suggestions on a mod that would entice me to keep it and learn the unique sounds. Post up some names and then we'll go from there.

Fubahs Total War Sound mod. It ROCKS! Download it and see if you like it. I have it and i love it. The only thing that doesnt work on there is the impact flesh sounds. But thats being worked on because i talk to fubah everyday.

Just compile one yourself, so you are familiar with all the sounds before you put them ingame. Just make a folder called sound mod, then extract any wavs you want in a prebuilt pk3 there. Then just put the sound folder in a zip file and rename it user-Coleman_sound.pk3 Its pretty easy to do, and you have all the sounds you choose.

von, YUCK! I downloaded the fubah's and it was terrible on my opinion. There was way too much base. It may sound realistic, bu with all the other sounds it didn't fit in right. The axis smg had a weird sound, but neat. Footsteps were nice andwhizes were cool also. Bu other than that, I would rather have the stock sounds for the guns and health packs.

Scale of 1-10, I give that mod a 3.5 because the base covers too much treble sounds.

Thanks for that comment, Quincy-fuckin-Jones.

I also like foobs' total war, but I took out the grenade sounds. They sounded like someone having a ten-pin bowling match.

I don't like any sound mods that have come out. They are all too much like Day of Defeat. I download every sound mod once it comes out and they all sound the same. Someone that has some weapons please make a good sound mod. Ohh by the way, the best sound mod that I've heard is found here at http://www.MOHELITE.com, made by Pvt. Ballo, and is called "Pvt. Ballo's Sound Mod"

My biggest complaint about every sound mod i've tried... only around 5 or so complete sound sets. Is that they have all made the damn MP40 sound like its suppressed. Like its the MP5 SD from rainbow 6. I like Fubah's sound mod but it made it sound suppressed as well.

i made one thats for the rifles. problem is that when your making your own its gonna sound weird and new at first to the people who get it. after youve gotten over that initial response to it being louder and more "explosive" then if you try going back to the original sounds it just dont sound right anymore. the guns sound weak and pathetic. in any case, if ya wanna try one that edits all the games rifles (sniper too) then try mine, its here on aa.com in the sound mods section. It changes the whiz sounds and impact sounds too (along with a few other things) but odds are that if you dont like louder and different sounds, then ya aint gonna like mine either.
