Default Why is my FPS so crappy now? - 10-02-2002, 07:13 PM

Recently I have been getting an FPS of about 15 on the crossroads at medium and low texture setting. This pisses me off as I was getting about 30-50 FPS outdoors on this map. Also the game slows down in places it shouldn't, like Stalingrad or S. France. I have run disk defrag many times to no avail. I have not added any programs lately. My system resources are at 77%. I don't have a very good system but that doesn't matter because I was getting pretty good FPS a few weeks back; now my FPS really sucks. Somebody please help me on this one.

What kind of video card do you have? You might wanna try downloading new driver? I don't know why it would do that.

same here, i got my new video card & for the first few days i could run it at max settings & it was smooth & my ping was about 100. then for some reason everything got very chuggy so i turned the settings down to low but still its chuggy & my ping stays at about 150 now.

Its funny because a lot of us have been having that same problem. I'll see if rude has run a trace recently. I thought it might be some players running hacks...but who knows.

so you mean that a lot of people have been experiencing bad FPS counts lately too? If that is the case then I don't feel so bad.

I was haveing the same problem on the aa.com server on Crossroads last night , fps was in the red outdoors , never did that before on any of the stock maps . I thought it might be because I was also on Jaspers TS server at the same time ( I just set TS up) and it of course uses some bandwidth although I don't know how much . Jasper said it uses so little that it shouldn't affect gameplay, but I'm not sure cause my fps never did that on crossroads before.

TS has never slowed me down before, and if it ever has, it has only slowed me down by 1 or 2 FPS. I'm kinda glad to know that other people are having this same problem, although I wish it weren't the case, because I know how much bad FPS can get on your nerves. Also I haven't had my ping rise lately like some of you others, it still is in the 80s or below in most places for myself.
