I have had a revelation, my brothers. -
10-28-2002, 12:00 PM
As I lay in a drunken stupor last night, and sat around in a half drunken stupor this morning, I realized that my life is going down the shitter. Therefore, I had to come to some sort of decision about what to do with it.
So, from this day forward, I will be giving up all destructive elements in my life. This includes drugs, alcohol, my ex, and my slutty f#ck buddies.
Now I know you are all saying, "yeah right", but I am serious. If I do not make this change soon...real soon, my life will take a very negative course. So far I have been lucky, and gotten away with all of the above, but luck runs out.
The factors against my are big. I really like substances...really like them. And I still believe if used in moderation, can be enjoyed without ruining your life. Most I can use in moderation, with the exception of alcohol, that one is the most deadly of the bunch. Second, all of my friends are into the above, and while they will be supportive of my decision, they are not quiting. So in effect, I am giving up a lot of time with my friends when I will need them the most. Third, I like sex, but the sluts have got to go, that's just the way it is.
Factors in my favor? I have a great job, supportive parents (although they don't know about the stuff above), and well...that's about it. It is going to be a huge uphill battle.
Why do I tell you guys? I have no f#cking clue. I am sure some flaming will occur for this..oh well. I am going to rely heavily on internet gaming to keep my mind off other things. So you will probably see me on the aa.com server once again.
Sorry for the long post.

I applaud you Totenkopf. It takes a lot of guts to admit there's a problem, let alone do something about it. It will be a hard battle but it will be worth it in the long run.
I had a friend who's life went downhill after getting involved with a certain substance. His friends confronted him about it but it did no good. You can't help those who won't help themselves.
So congrats. We're with ya.
biggrin:

Good luck. Moderation is the key. I college, I stayed clean and sober in moderation, now I party in moderation. One thing I did learn in college - no matter what is going on tonight, there will be something else going on tomorrow, take care of business when you have to.

Thanks gents! I appreciate it.
I have a lot of friends that are headed down the same path and have no desire to change. It's funny, I started hanging out with this group about a year and a half ago. We all met at a club and had just started experimenting with ecstasy. We had great times, but it led to other things. We had to find things that made us even higher, or just do more. Fear and Loathing type stuff.
Anyway, I am off to get a new hard-drive. Mine is going tits-up, I think I am gonna pick up bf1942 while I am at it.
