Default mIRC help - 02-15-2003, 02:05 PM

*i dont think this is illegal because i could be trying to dl a file from a friend or something*

ok well im having trouble with mirc. i use xgoogle and the xcdcspy to find the file i want. then i get into the channel and whatever and type "/msg [w]-xdcc-008 xdcc get #1"
after i put that the bot goes "-[W]-XDCC-008- *** Sending You Pack #1 Which Is 480MB. (Resume Supported)"
and then this thing
"-[W]-XDCC-008- *** You have a DCC pending, Set your client to receive the transfer. (150 seconds remaining until timeout)"
what do i do after it tells me that?

#1) You haven't enabled dcc sends. You must check off under DCC options "automatically accept dcc sends" and "requests", and also turn off DCC ignore. (I don't remember the exact options)

#2) Make sure your firewall isn't blocking it if applicable.

#3) Make sure IRC isn't blocking it because of the file format. Check the main server window for any messages that could help. They have to be zipped usually.

Goto your DCC send options and unignore all file types.

Yup. I guess all those trojans people were sending out finally made the developers set all files on block by default.
