George Bush pulled out of a speech to the European Parliament when MEPs wouldn't guarantee a standing ovation…Senior White House officials said the President would only go to Strasbourg to talk about Iraq if he had a stage-managed welcome.. & he wonders why people think americans are assholes? when the presedent does stupid things like this it makes the entire country look bad. hake:

It looks bad but that is the Mirror you're talking about there.

Tabloid spread that's very anti-war. Slightly biased report...

I wouldn't deny there's an element of truth in the statements but it's how they are presented that makes the difference. If it is true then he must be on a political suicide mission.

Is The Mirror your only source of this? if it is, trust me.. Don't believe everything you read in the paper, especially a British Tabloid.

How come Brits have the most ravenous tabloids? Must be the presence of the Royal Family. Kill the Royals and we'll see nothing but the truth.

Heh, I was thinking the same thing except you could substitute the name scrotum for the mirror.

Here, here.

I couldn't give a toss about our monarchy.

However, I don't think that's got anything to do with our tabloids being creative and exploitational.

That would be down to people like Max Clifford to whom the whole media is a playground to do with how he chooses.

He's been documented to have used his paper to get one over a fellow investigative presenter (Louis Theroux) by printing a pack of lies about his activities in a club.

It's public knowledge that you can't trust these papers and yet when The Sun (direct competitor to The Mirror) is the most popular paper in the UK selling millions a day then you know they must be doing something right.

i beleive what it says about Bush but at the same time i think that the applause is probably not the only reason Bush didnt speak, I'm sure the British tabloids conveniently forgot the rest.
