I was wanting to know if the code for maps or skins is like visual basic or c++. Or totally different. I am going to start getting into modding some stuff.
okay was just wandering I took visual basic here in college and my roomate took c++ programming. I don't think it will be hard then we can make some maps and skins and stuff then
Skins involves, .tik files and shader files. Both are quite simple to grasp. Mapping isn't difficult. Just requires decent knowledge of MOHRadiant, and knowledge on using q3map and mohlight to compile to maps to make hardcoded .bsp files that the game can use.
yeah and you should also have a at least simple grasp of paint shop pro or photoshop too. since skinning involves editing true vision targa format images, editing alpha channels and layer levels, and masking.
