One of the many errors I get -

Okay I reformatted for the fourth time and replaced my ide cable to my harddrive. I updated my drivers got all my updates and shit of that sort still to no avail. A freind of mine said it could be something to do with my registry but I get error messages while installing Steam dod,BF,raven shield and when I download some files they say that they're corrupted when in fact they're not. PLEASE any fucking help here. I'm not sure if its hardware related but that seems like the only solution right now

Question Butters, is this only happening with files you are downloading? Or is it happening while installing programs off of a CD. CRC will alert you when a file appears corrupt (from a scratched CD or some other unreadable media). But, it could also be corrupt if your internet connection to the host is experiencing packet loss either on your end or while in transit. If you are using a router, the router could be bad and basically throwing away some of the good packets, although this seems unlikely.
The most obvious solution to me is to either check the media from which you are trying to install these programs, or to replace that hard drive with one you know is working. If you see no more errors, throw the old hard drive away.
Well I did replaced the ide cables that go from the mobo to the harddrive. I cleaned the disc many times with a tissue and then my eye glass rag. It also happens with the Halo Demo when I dl it and it says it can't find a .cab file. I was considering posting on a BF forum, but considering I get this error with BF,Raven Shield,Halo demo and steams fucked up too. When I DL'd a patch it said that the .exe was corrupted. As for the haddrive replacement before all the errors I had two harddrives in my comp the main one and a slave one from my old comp. I formated on both of those 2 diffrent times but to no avail. I'm gonna see if I can borrow one of my freinds harddrive and maybe that'd work but prolly not.
My best advice would be to go here ->www.hardforum.com and post this in the right forum. Flaming is something we look down on there and almost everyone get a good reply to their questions. I have never seen anyone flamed there for a problem even if it was n00bish.. not saying yours is. Just give it a try. beer: cheers. gl.
