Don't be fooled. This was their plan the entire time. Their intentions were never to have advertising on the bases, bats and whatever all. They just said that to get everyone worked up over it so when they put advertising only on the on-deck circle everyone thinks baseball was somehow saved from over-commercialization. The fact of the matter is they still got advertising on the field - and that's all they wanted right from the beginning. It's a pretty clever marketing scheme if you ask me.
"It's for kids, and kids love it," he said. "It would have been cool to see the Spider-Man logo for those three days. Kids could have worn their Spider-Man gear to the stadium."
