It's a shame they killed it. Those creatures are at the top of the food chain and keep things in check out there in the ocean. Thats one reason why i practice catch & release.

Meh, the other pic looks more like a mako. Big one too. But I agree, I dont see the point in taking those. Sharks are typically released with us. The changes in recent years are interesting at teh minimum. Stainless hooks give way to hooks that will rust out in a few days if the line is broken, sharks are released instead of shot, gill nets are gone for almost a decade, Lead sinkers are probably next, catch and release is the norm for non meat species. Less waste, good for all.
