Website intros are just extraneous clutter. Big usability faux pas.

General rule: If you feel compelled to put a "Skip Intro" link on your flash intro, chances are you shouldn't put it online to start with.

It's an obstacle.

Well, it can provide a bit of entertainment/introduction to a first time visitor, but just annoying after that
