Fined -

I went to work on friday night, I work in a convenience store/ off licence. This lad came in to buy alcohol and as he looked 18, so I served him. 2 minutes later some police came in saying that I failed a test purchase and that I served someone under the age of 18. I was given the choice to attend a court appearance or get an "on the spot fine" of £80 (140.39). FUCKING TWATS! I just work to try and earn some money to get a car and then change job around christmas, yet I have to watch who I serve due to cunt police trying to catch me out and fine me the fuckers.
Yet when i ring the police about a real criminal offence happening/happened the police take hours to get here if not days. I mean wtf? I rang up last week to say there is a fight outside the shop, the woman replyed all units are currently unavailabe. Yet they are wasting all their resources on catching innocent people out (speed cameras, test purchases etc)
My dept manager said he found on a forum a woman in the same position as me chose the court appearance and got herself a £600 fine and a criminal record for it.
As a defence our shop as a 'refusals log' (where we write down each sale we refuse) incase this happened, they practically ignored it.
The weird thing was that when the lad was leaving I had a feeling something wasnt right, I dunno i cant really describe it, like a subconsious feeling i was being watched. I glanced out of the shop window and saw the lad walk through the car park towards a car at the back of the car park. The police wernt in police uniform but I knew instantly that it was them.

Sounds like the LAPD. They are busy busting guys trying to hire prostitutes and then talk about how they don't have the manpower to do such and such.

I usually do ask for ID. He really did look 18 though. Anyway, i went to work today and had to fill out a statement saying exactly what happened. I told her what the police said my choices were:
Attend a court appearance (and probably get a hefty fine and a criminal record)
or an "on the spot fine" of £80
My manager went ape at what they said at the first option. She said they shouldnt have said that and only said that to pressurise me to get the on the spot fine. Shes writing a harsh letter to the licencing dept now. Aparently I shouldnt have accepted the on the spot fine, and let my companies soliciters sort it out. GG company for letting me know this cuss:

What Stackem says and if a copper comes in refuse to serve him at all. Tell him you think his ID is fake.

Yea, You can bitch and moan about how cops are singling you out for selling beer to a minor and not catching the real criminals, but if you actually carded people for their ID instead of just guessing they're 18 the cops wouldn't have to do this no matter how worthless you feel it is.
