eek:

This started after I installed my replacement card eVGA sent me after I turned in my old card for an RMA. This isn't so bad becuase my last card would just crash with no warning and I'd have to reset my computer, now I get these artifacts and then it locks up so now I have a warning system oOo: , my card isn't overclocked and I have the beta forceware drivers from Nvidias site.

On a side note...I can run Rome Total War on max settings, on 1152 x 864, with more than 18,000+ units on screen and it runs like a charm.

rock:

Might be a driver glitch, try swapping driver revision.

Meh, try a reinstall, was gonna suggest overheating but its only doing it in that game so i doubt it would be.

I just tried Half-Life 2 and I'm getting that same artifact...this card is brand new, it's not over-clocked, and it has the WHQL certified driver. How could it be overheating?

Just possible it could be, check the temperature in the nv control panel/

From what I can tell my NV panel doesn't have a temperature gauge.

loney:

This really sucks.

Download the coolbits registry hack, just google for coolbits, install it, you should see an option for clock speeds and its in there.

Ok did all that and I'm still getting the same problem.

Plus my readings in SpeedFan are oOo: .

Edit: I'm guessing the 253 is my GPU, it never changes either and my GPU is always very hot to the touch.
