when you delete something in trash can is it totally gone forever? or is somewhere on your computer? please enlighten me in this subject.

yes, look for recovery programs, essentially, nothing that is "deleted" is deleted, it can usually be recovered

Look for a program called "Sure Delete" if you want to make it harder to recover deleted files.

in a roundabout sort of way, it becomes very very compressed and is thrown into the back of your HD. programs and various other methods can be used to recover a deleted program
