Default server timeout when map changes! - 10-08-2002, 03:55 PM

heey peeps!
I know i have typed this b4! but! still! mad:

I run a dedicated server as usuaæ from another comp!
and i have a rcon passsword and everything!!

it used to run everything smoothely! but not recently!!

as i wrote b4, i get timeout, wveryone gets timeout
when map changes! i have also set the correct maxrate!
and i dont use autokick.

but what i noticed from the dedicated server console, is! that
it says, it could not write to \\....unnamedsoldier\current.spv
something like that!!

so i located that file and deleted it! so it would regenerate, right!!
so i test the server again! and when i change map from rcon,
the console get a freakin, Illegal operation and crashess!
WTF!!!

so is my mohaa now totaaaly Messed up?

regdards

If it's in windows, go into the recycle bin and restore the file.

Also, this maybe on another comp, but is it sharing the same connection and is that connection DSL or cable? I don't mean to sound cruel, but I think that given the small upload rate on both of those connections you'll still run into issues when the server's changing maps. But I can't say for sure. It just stands to reason, y'know?

Yah, alot of people have had these problems, something like

[code:52107]could not locate unnamedsolder\pilot.sks
please restore the file and try again.[/code:52107]

From what I've heard, you have to reinstall the game. I would try removing any custom files you may have first, then if that dosen't work, do a fresh install:
