Default Running a dedicated server on DSL help - 10-14-2002, 07:25 AM

I finally got my dedicated server up and running, but now when I connect with my other computer it lags the hell out of it. Other players have been playing on it with no problems around 4 players but when I try to connect it causes havoc. I am running a DSL connection through a hub with access manger on both computers. This is just a practise server but I need to connect to it lol so if someone has some ideas please post them.

First off, Iwould use a switch not a hub! All a hub basically does is nicrease a signal over a distance. It is not good at splitting up data!

Hubs decrease performance with distance from it. Get a switch at least!

Switches distribute data evenly, a Hub doesn't do croc.

True a hub can cause problems
What I would first look into is the settings of the 2nd computers network card settings.
make sure its set to 100 and not 10
