Unreal Tournament 2003 -
11-03-2002, 05:38 PM
Ok well first off, know that I wouldn't pay jack shit to get this game. However folks in the community have provided us with a handy dandy generator so I can hop on and play this wonderous game (granted its enjoyment comes from is faduciary compatability).
Anyway, I usually hate games like this, but waiting for SPEARHEAD and yes, getting a little bored with Battlefield, made me seek out this game. First off the graphics kick major ass, and even at high settings with a low fps (15-20), the game still ran pretty damn good for me.
And when you actually get into the game and start fragging away, HOOBABY - ! Really. The game modes are really cool - DOUBLE DOMINATION and BOMBING RUN. Having to hold a control point that a enemy just has to run across to take from you is hard as fuck, and holding two of them for 10 seconds is even harder, especially with rockets, and lightning, and slime, and whatever else raining down on you like hellfire. Pretty nice and intense shit.
So. Bottom line. If you have DSL and can find it, UT2003 can ease, and satisfy those "waiting-for-Spearhead" blues.

Might be but as of now, its the best engine OUT there, until Doom3 comes out. Most games will run on the Unreal engine for now.

Sorry, but for crazy insane fun - I think I'll choose this game.
Games like MOH, and BATTLEFIELD, and this RAVEN-WHATEVER are fine, but the game mode in UT2003 is fun as shit. DOUBLE DOMINATION and BOMBING RUN are the only reasons I play this game. It's like an extreme sports thing.
And it's fucking FREE! What the hell, any game that looks and plays like this, and doesn't cost me a dime, I'll take any damn day.

What exactly about the game is shit? What are you comparing it to? For what it is meant to be, it is pretty damn good. UT is meant for one thing, a complete f#cking fragfest. And if that isn't what floats your boat, then of course you won't like it. But if you do like that style of game, then this game is the sh!t.

Some folks just think a game needs, GARANDS, and proper magazines, and l33tness, and authenticity, and portable MG42's and FUDGE BROWNIES, I mean BROWNING, [insertmorebullshitwwII"expert"shit], to make it fun.
Oh well. Means I dont have to deal with their shit on the server.

I'm going to buying this soon, I loved the demo. There are also some good mods in the work, the one that looks the best to me is the WW2 mod (go figure) Path to Victory. It's looking to be really good. I'm also still waiting for the Third Reich for the original UT, it's supposed to come out this month. Hopefully they might switch over from there. biggrin:
