Communism is a really futuristic concept...or should we die? -

Before you call me an evil commie, a warlord, or a backward medieval person, hear me out. As you see, machines are constantly replacing humans in the workstation. You can see that, at the turn of the previous century, farmers were driven out of their farms due to other farmers being able to do the work of ten farmers, since they were able to apply technology. Eventually, almost all workers will be replaced by technology and machines. How will people be able to work for a living? How will capitalism work in a technological society? The only way I see it, is by sharing all wealth equally, otherwise everyone will starve, or maybe we're supposed to die and let technology take over? Maybe that is the final chapter in evolution....
Thoughts?

Humans will always be needed for entertainment...You can't fuck a robot....Nor can you pro-create with it....And I don't think there will ever be a Robot that's as funny as Sienfeld.

A perfect form of capitalism and communism should be embraced: although
people will work for their money (added luxuries), everyone's basic needs
will be taken care of. The companies that want to offer a "luxury" will be free
to do so: if they're good and people like the product, they will flourish but if
no one wants the said product, too bad, so sad. NB: I don't know jack shit
about communism or much about capitalism so feel free to bash me with a
club on the head if you don't like my idea

The creation, destruction, implementation, developement, manufacturing of technology creates MORE jobs. Problem with communism: people are inherently greedy. Communism will not and does not work because people have a concept of "fairness." For instance, lets say that you and I are both living in a communist state. If I am a janitor and you are a doctor, wouldn't you feel slighted that at the end of the day? Neither of us made money and we both get THE SAME food clothing etc.? Rightly so you might think that you deserve more compensation for your efforts. After all, it takes more skill and knowledge to be a doctor than it does to be a janitor. However, we would both live in the same sized house, eat the same food for dinner wear the same issued clothes. This is where Sloi comes in:

sounds to me like socialism. Your compensation and pay are derived from your efforts and skill. Communism will NOT work in America. Socialism might be the intermediate step between Capitalism and Communism. However, I do believe that all people must be motivated in some way. Communism is devoid of motivation (except for helping fellow man), where Capitalism uses the all mighty dollar to prod people along. SO in closing I do not believe Commnuism is possible for a long period of time. History has shown this. Socialism MAY be possible, changing everyones mindset is the hardest step. And no matter what form of government is in place, people will starve and people will die. There is no perfect solution.

Yeah, there are a lot of machines doing jobs these days and I see it as with the mass creating of Aritificial Intelligence we will die out. Either we will rely on them too much are they will kill us oOo: Yeah sounds a little off but its possible.

I think communism would surely work, with some fine tuning:
Rather than have a Janitor and a doctor on the same pay, you divide them up into classes....
Example:
1st Class Careers:
Brain Surgeon, Lawyer, Judge, Politician...
2nd Class Careers:
Policeperson, soldier, builder, teacher, stripper...
3rd Class Careers:
Janitor, rubbish guy, clerk, crackwhore...
You see, each class gets paid a different amount of money, depending on how worthy they are...i.e 3rd Class Careers get 8,000 dollars a year, while 1st class get 80,000 or something.
You could add more classes or something, and elaborate on each class.
This and comrade sloidussey's idea together would make MOTHER NATION THE BEST NATION!

But now you have a class system. Where is your motivation? That is the whole problem with communism. It creates an entitlement attitude. In a small community it can work well, because you can tell who the slackers are and those issues can be addressed. In a larger, more buearucratic society, those porblems fall thru the cracks.
Humans will never automate themselves out of society. Increased automation will free people to pursue alternative activities. Kind of like tv. A hundred years ago, no one had time to watch tv, so even if it existed, it would be pointless. With more effiecient production (of everything) we had "idle" time to invent, manufacture, and watch tv. Plus there was a whole new industry created just to make programming.

Unless I am gravely mistaken, one of the largest goals communism tries to accomplish is to rid of the "class system".

communism in theory is not a bad idea, but it has never worked and never will. capitalism may not sound as good as communism, but it damn well works better.
P.S. I would never call a moderator a commie, even if i thought they were. biggrin:
