Logitech Mouse issues! -
11-11-2002, 10:50 AM
Anyone that has the Logitech Cordless Optical, please gimme some support here.
I installed Mouseware from logitech, newest version (9.47, I think), and I'm having issues using the scroll wheel in games. It works fine in MOH & SH, but in BF1942, when I scroll, it keeps going rapidly in that direction. (dosen't scroll one weapons, scrolls backwards constantly, even when I finish moving the wheel). In UT2003, Mafia, & GTA3, it won't scroll at all. Here's what I've tried so far:
1) Disabling EX_EXEM from the startup (or whatever it's called)
2) Installing the registry key for the Gaming Wheel from logitech's website.
3) Reinstalling the drivers
All of the buttons work, including the thumb button, just not the scroll. Someone suggested that I might not have the right mouse controls configured in DXDIAGS, but I have no idea on how to change this. Any ideas, I can use em, plz!

I have the same mouse.
I wish I could help you Joe, as I have problems of my own.
* Mouse cursor randomly jumps to the start button - in MOHAA this results in looking straight down and spinning in circles until I move the mouse back up
* Thumb button doesn't work in MOHAA - I wanted to use it as my TeamSpeak transmit key (mapped ALT to thumb button and had ALT as my transmit key in TS)
Is there any relation between our problems?

Eh, a little.
What you need to do for the thumb button is go into the ctrl panel>mouse, and set the 4th button, thumb button to ALT. By default, it's Go Back for webpages. So, change that, and try that. Also, the wheel button should be set as "Middle Button".

PS: The spinning in circles has to do with the orentation of the laser piece on the mouse. This is caused sometimes by slightly lifting the mouse off of the pad/whatever it's on. I do this often, heh

I did that and still no go for the ALT key. I didn't, however, press the thumb button while assigning the key from within TS. I pressed the keyboard ALT.
Interesting about the laser. I never noticed myself picking the mouse up...

Yah, I do it constantly, heh. It's just the way the lazer reads what it's on. I mean, just lifting the mouse won't do it, it's a certian angle, but that's defineatly what it is.
