Long story cut short, steel batallion for the xbox costs $200. You get the game (duuh) a big controller plus a set of pedals.
Price breakdown.
Game = $50
Pedals and controller = $50
Hiring a forklift to bring it home = $100

All that for $200US? Well I guess its worth it if the game is really good and you can use the controls for other games than its fine probably.

I didn't buy the game at all. When it is released in uk\ireland its gonna cost £150 which imo is too much for a game, even with a snazzy joystick.

ah, mecha, now I see what the many controls are for.
If they had a Robotech game like that I might buy it, otherwise, generic mech combat, bah to that.

I got the x-box, and I have to say you should p[robably stick with Mech Assault for some mech action. The game is perfect, a little too arcadey, but for online play it is the best game you can get. Steel Battalion looks cool, but unless you can use the controller for other games (you can't) then I don't think I will pick it up till it drops too an incredibly low price of... what a game should cost. Of course, I usually love sims, but I love money more, and for now Mech assault although less simmy then Mech Warrior2, is still a great game. IMO

Hell yea that game is worth it! I don't have an X-Box but after reading up about the SB I want it! That thing looks so cool, even if the game sucks.

I heard it was good. Is it true you must eject before you die or you lose you saved game file?

Yeah, if you dont eject in time (which you should know when time is near cause your cock pit is sparking and your windows are cracked) you lose your saved game files. you cant then just restart the level, you must first buy a new mech with the points you earn. if you dont have enough points for a mech then its game over.
some of the buttons on the controls are just to start up the mech.
it does sound pricey at around £150, but remember that that is the r.r.p, so you can probably get it for £20-£30 less if you shop around.
Its really no different than buying a snowboard for the snowboarding games, or a good steering wheel. the game and controls adds up to a reasonable price, and a worthy pruchace for all x-box owners.

I saw it on Tech TV about a month and a half ago.
