If you're going to put a new OS on, just use the new OS's disc.

When you put the CD in, it will ask you if yuo want to keep the system configuration and files, just choose no.

If you want to do a clean format, then you need the OS's boot disk. You go into DOS and type FDISK. You need to delete all current partitions and then create a new one (or multiple ones). Then, when you are sure you want to format, you type ---> format c: and <enter>. Once the formatting is done, reboot the system with the boot disc, or the bootable CD-ROM, and set it up, its that easy. If you are installing Win 9x then make sure you use the Boot disk and select "start with CD-Rom support. Then you go into the d: or whatever your default cd-rom drive is and type "setup" and <enter>. Any more questions let me know.
