more like instruction page, it was like 1 page the size of a pack of gum, and it only said how to format it, but i was like what the hell and whent at it any way and now i have a nice 40gig harddrive just for music.....
they can shut down kazza all they want because by the time they do that the 40 will be full, im going to get music even if i dont like the band im still going to download it untill the 40 is full

are you just adding or replacing your old harddrive?
if your just adding it all you should have to do is follow the instructions on how to set it up you shouldn't have to do anything with your old one

^^^ what he said. Jumper instrutions should be on the HD itself or with the instructions (set it to slave), connect to slave position on cable, check your bios, update if necessary. If everything is set right, you will either be asked what you want to call the drive, it will be assigned for you, most likey D: Format if you like.

1) set your old drives jumper to Master, and the new one to Slave.
2) Plug it in to the 2nd IDE connector on your Primary cable (the same one your HD is using.)
3) Boot up your PC.
4) If it's WinME, 2000, or XP, it should detect the new drive, then you will need to reboot.
5) You should format the drive to an NTFS partition if it's Win2000/XP. Just right-mouse click the drive in My Computer, then Format.
