spearhead sounds

ok i bought spearhead played it, everything was working, downloaded the patch installed it, now most of the sounds have gone the new weapon sounds have gone and the footstep sounds etc. the only sounds that are working are the voices, old weapon sounds and ricochets (sp?) when i open the console after not hearing any sound i get a message:

"so and so needs an alias in ubersound - please fix" or something along those lines, i have reinstalled the game and it still gets messed up when i install the patch.

anyone know whats wrong?

i have that same problem. it usually happens with the rifles for me. i ignore it.

When i cheat in MOHAA and get all guns, none of them have sound and it says the same thing oOo: Dunno.

What kind of sound card do you have?

I have a SoundBlaster Live! and I had the same problem. Here something to try if you have the same card:

1.Go to Programs, Creative, Audio HQ, Sound Font.

2.Select the third tab, Options. You can allocate a little less than half of your system RAM to the sound font cache.

This helps, but does not cure the sound dropping out.

It's a known issue. Hopefully they caught it for this patch coming out.

When you use the "all weapons" cheat in SP the sound will not work for a weapon you would not normaly have in that level, but will work for all others.

SH has got a problem with the Enfield rifle sound and none of the sound mods made for SH have fixed it yet, and of course neither has EA.

The reason none of the guns that aren't in that level don't work is because EA didn't put any sound file for an STG in mission 3L1 that's why you can't hear junk.

got the same thing......no taunt voices etc. too

the weird part is tht it just suddenly changed, it was working fine first (i made no changes whatsoever if ur interested)

i'm using a creative sblive platinum....well hope they fix this with the patch (which will come out soon i read somewhere, right?)

no i dont have a flashy soundcard, i have onboard sound but it does the job, i am hopefully getting a SB5.1 soon anyway, EA really screwed this oneup, i think they shud atleast test the games before they release them the retards. biggrin:
