6.9/10 isn't all that bad, not a bitchslapping, anyways. Try looking up Extreme Paintball. evil:

I'm half way through and its one of the best games I've played almost as good as Mafia. I rarely ever (if ever) pay attention to game critics, same as movie critics.

Are you serious, it's really that good, or are you being sarcastic?

Yeah, I'm being serious its got a great story line, good voice acting and character animation... the gameplay is pretty decent, the driving bits can be tedious at times but overall there pretty good and I like the fact that the screen is'nt filled with a bunch of life and ammo bars or maps means you have to count your rounds and actually pay attention to the game and not some little red meter. I would give Mafia a 10 and The Getaway would be an 8.

Heres what it says about the two characters (from the manual)
1.)Mark Hammond
A former member of the Soho-based Collins gang is now on the run for the suspected murder of his wife Susie. Desperate not to be captured so that he may free his kidnapped child, Mark is trying recklessly to maintain his sanity and freedom.
2.)Frank Carter
A determined member of the elite Flying Sqaud, Frank Carter's ambition is to nail Charlie Jolson. SOme of his superiors, however, do not share his obsession, so Frank mus bend the law to bring the Bethnal Green mob to justice.
(Charlie Jolson is the mob boss he kidnaps Hammonds son)

I'm going to go rent it this weekend. I RARELY listen to reviewers etc. on games. I read the reviews in PSM and then somewhat base it on weather or not to get it. I also just rent them before I buy.

Wow, rented it today, amazing. The graphics are just awesome, the realism, it's definately there in full force. When you get shot, then blood spreads on your jackets, and eventually you start limping around, and he breathes heavily and stuff, and to regain health, you have to lean against the wall by just standing near one and he puts his arm up. There is no hud, which is cool, the only thing I don't really like about it is that there is no map, although the turn signals on the car tell you where to go, and the other is that the London roadways are very tough to navigate. Not used to having to drive on the left side, many times I turn onto the right side and smack into an oncoming car. But, that I'll get used to. I'm definately going to get it, plus, it's only $40, as Sony is supposedly lowering prices of PS2 games to that. The over the edge language is also quite interesting, and it's essence of a movie is well done. I'd give it a 9 out of 10.
