Default FreeLancer !! - 02-02-2003, 01:30 AM

For those of you interested in Space flightsims, this game fucking rocks !! I've been playing it the last few days. At work we recently recieved a full beta version and let me tell you, the scope of this game is massive. Some people had problems accepting that it's controlled only with the mouse, it actually works great and is easy to control. Space combat has never been so much fun. It also looks and sounds great. The full retail version should be available next month. There is also 128 Multiplayer gameplay, endless open ended single player gameplayer and a really great story line. If your into space sims, check this out !!

Yeah, I've been looking forward to this game. Is this by the guy who did the Wing Commander games, cause he did a Freelancer game before?

Yeah that guy who started this game first did the Wing Commander series then the Privateer series. All awesome games. He actually started this title off yeras ago, but was bought by Microsoft and he left Digital Anvil to start his own company....I think thats how the story goes.....either way, this game rocks !!!!

I think the game your thinking about is StarLancer ?? Another great title in the series...also done by Microsoft and Digital Anvil.

I read about this one in PC Gamer. Maps are huge. I'll definitely get a look at this one. The open ended play is what I find the most appealing.

Its awesome Jedi. You can be flying along minding your own business and you'll see some ships up ahead. Fly on over and you'll find that they are Rogues...nasty guys. Basically, if you can, take out their ships, and when the fighting is over fly around the area, target parts of their blown ships..ie weapons, metal, engines, whatever else...and use your tractor beam to bring it into your cargo hold, fly to a port, land, sell your newly acquired equipment or load it onto your ship. At the start you are alittle restricted with what you can do, but a few missions later, you are pretty much on your own and taking freelance missions for different companies. Its awesome. biggrin:

the big vessels look good and new, but the fighters and civilian ships look like their design was taken from a 50s sci-fi film
