Thought this might interest some of you who read WW2 history. Stephen Ambrose is a respected (american) writer of popular history books, including many on WW2. His book "D-Day" was a major influence on the movie 'Private Ryan'.
I have read one of his books and didn't care for it or him, because he strikes me as being too much of a flag waver to be considered a serious historian. For instance, his account of DDay pretty much leaves out the British contribution, which was significant to say the least. (Paul Fussell or John Keegan are my favorite writers on such subjects)
Anyway apparently Ambrose's latest book is just full of lines he COPIED straight out of another historian's book. PURE OUT AND OUT PLAGARISM.
