Default Dedicated server auto annoucement? - 03-01-2003, 02:18 PM

Hi,

I've just set up my dedicated server & amazingly all running as it should be!

Quik question for ya tho....i use autokick to display announcements to players...and i notice if i go into some servers that as soon as you join, the console will automatically display you a message...whether it be rules of the server or whatevr....anyone know how you do this???

I mean my announcements are on a timer and display every 5mins....but i dont know how to display a certain message to players when they 1st join.

Cheers

If your talking about MOHAA then you can edit your Loc.txt file to display a message when someone joins

Spearhead does not let you do this. Thus you can not display a message when someone joins

Check out http://www.mohadmin.com under guides on how to edit your loc.txt file to display a message in MOH:AA

hehe sorry about that. I get lazy loc.txt = localization.txt

you can find the guide here:
http://www.mohadmin.com/nuke/modules.ph ... age&pid=19

Within this guide is a downloadable localization.txt file. it make is easier to get then to extract if from your pk3 file. You then have to change the attributes of the file. just go to my site and get my guide.

Then just follow along and you should be all set. remember this will not work on Spearhead.

If you run into problems just e-mail me at rudedog@mohadmin.com
