Buy a sidewinder headset, get one free -

Shoulda guessed something was up when my headset arrived in a box like this, this morning.

Seems theyre doing a 2 for 1 offer now on the sidewinders, basically getting £80's worth of hardware for £40.

And the headset itself.

Pretty impressed with it so far, good sound through the earpieces and the mic retracts outta the way for when you're not playing games. happy:

Doesn't seem to so far, if u use the bundled software its voice activated, or you can use the pod thing that comes with it to assign speaking to all or just your team. Or you can use team speak or roger wilco and assign a keyboard ptt button.
Thers also an option to control how much bandwidth you want to assign to your speech up to 35 kilobits i believe.
Gonna have to give it a try in dod later on and see what its like evil:

Ive had it for a while now. Its cool, but I dont use Gamevoice. Gamevoice is a pain to run for some of my clan mates. Good thing about the device though, is that you can switch from headphones to speakers just by the switch. Headphones have a good sound, but eventually the mic is gonna get loose and start drifting away from your mouth.

I've had mine since June. The only problem I've had (and I use it everyday) is that the boom that the mic is on slips sometimes and slowly falls away from my face. Other than that its a great setup. The hockey puck is useful for GV, but not much else.

i was on a school computer so that would probably result in a loss of "computer priveleges" for the rest of the year. All the computers have stickers on them saying, "Any attempt to change ANY settings on ANY program on ANY school computer is a violation subject to disciplinary and/or legal action." then some more stuff about no internet games or installing stuff. My school is pretty tight about that stuff ever since a bunch of guys got caught hacking their grades
