Need help with Black Hawk Down Demo -
03-20-2003, 08:29 PM
have a few questions.
1) How come the demo occasionally crashes? Just typical demo stuff?
2) After the game crashes the game kicks me back to my desktop whenever I try to search for online servers. What is wrong?
3) I have heard something about a "Master Addon", but can't find it anywhere. What is this and will it fix my problems?
4) Now when I try to reinstall and play the game again, it still kicks me out when I try to search for online servers. Usually reinstalling the demo would fix problems, but I have reinstalled twice and it still kicks me out.
I like this game a lot and want to buy it, but if the full version will give me problems like this I don't want it.
Finally here are my specs:
1.2GHZ AMD Athlon
GeForce 4 Ti4200 64 Mb
256 Mb SDRAM
20Gb HD.
I can play games like Splinter Cell easily with everything maxed out, so this game shouldn't be a problem.

Did I ask for your opinion? No I plainly asked if anyone could give me some advice on how to fix this problem. Vance I am suprised to see you make such a dumb comment.

I have the full game and it works fine, no problems at all. The demo I am not sure of, but I know that you have to have a decent system, not just the minimum requirements listed. You have to have recent video drivers and directx 8.1. Make sure your resolution and video settings are set to the lower settings and work your way up to determine if it's the video. Check the official website and forums out there to check for any fixes that may be available.
BTW, whoever said the game sucks obviosly haven't played it, the game friggin rocks. Very intense.

You dont have fps problems? You seem to turn your games way up, when I like to leave them a little lower and keep my framerate up. Frame rate is life! More so in multiplayer, but it carries over to sp.
My specs:
xp2200
512 ddr 3200
ti4200

Its kind of hard to compare my system with yours, but running the full game on everything maxed out, and resolution at 1280X1024 I am not having any real slowdown. I might lower the resolution though to see how much smoother it runs.
P4 2.53 ghz
1024MB Pc800 Rambus
Ti4600 128MB
Gigabyte Ga-8Ihxp mobo

Yes, I have the full version too, bugless, and extremely fun.
As for your problems, try getting the newest nVIDIA drivers, and also try DX9. I had no problems with the demo at all.

Differnt strokes, I guess. I had a friend that said he never had a problem with MOH. I tried ot play it on his pc and he was getting about 15 fps. It was horrible, but he swore it was cool. I dont like to ever drop below 60 fps. It truly makes your game play much better.

Geez, I had to run the demo at 800x600 in order for it not to lag in some places, and I have better specs...
