the only problem with the artillery is that in the game if you are right next to it the sound is almost deafening, but that is difficult to acheieve when recording

The AK was probably recorded from a pretty good distance. Because thats what AK's sound like from afar

The Mauser seems to be pretty high pitch. My Turkish Kar is a bit louder and crisper...well, maybe because it's Turkish? But it's still a Kar98.

I recognize a lot of these sounds from the TWO mod for Sudden Strike 2...so maybe someone did put them to good use.
