Default Aliens vs. Predator 2 - 04-28-2003, 07:22 PM

Holy Crap this game is sweet. I downloaded it today and it is awesome. I can't belive I haven't heard of this game before, as it has been out a while. Does anybody have the full version?? Is it cool?

For those who haven't heard of it either, it is a FPS, only you can play as three different species: Marine, Alien, Predator. The coolest thing is that each specie has totally unique weapons, movemnts, and abilities. Personally I like the Predator the best. I love hunting down humans in thermal vision while slicing their heads off then screaming as you pick up their head. Me being a big fan of the Alien/Predator movies, I can't believe I missed such a great game. Looks like my gaming slump is over now!

SP was too easy and boring. MP was good until people stopped playing. I love being the aliens and stalking down your prey then striking in the darkness. The pred is really cool, though its just too easy to kill anything with it. Human is boring... just a normal FPS. Its a nice change from the average shooter though.

i have the first one - the second was was beyond my system specs but may actually buy it as i seem to have a nack of getting powerful games to run on my pissy pc.

The first one gave a severe headache playing as the alien.

being a marine was suicide and not easy. the predator......great gadgets, but the aliens become too much.

i wouldnt mind a go at the second one tho....a trip to the shops tomorrow may be order. youve wet my appetite for human destruction.

its only about £10 to buy now.....

Yes the second one is ALOT better than the first. I liked it, but it's not something that I would play for long. Now if you remember AvP for the Atari Jaguar, you are 1337! biggrin:

AvP2 rocks the single campaign is actually quite good on it specially the Human one , played it at night in complete dark with sound turned right up once, twas scary stuff with your radar beeping with a few white dots only for you to look up seeing shitloads of aliens running up the abandoned base hallway jumping at you .

Yeah I actually do remember it. And from what I have read the Marines in AVP2 are much better equipped now and its easier to kill Predators in MP.

LOL Static, that's the only part of the Marine compaign that I liked. You're slowly walking down a seemingly endless dark hallway with your trusty mini-gun. No sound at all. Your radar beeps once. You freak out and frantically look around, but see nothing. You calm down and start to move again. Two beeps this time, you back up against the wall and stare into your screen. The beeps become rapid and the stratching and scurying of the aliens can be heard all around you. You crouch down and prepare for the worst. The beeps stop. Everything goes quite again. You're confused, but you know what is about to happen. Suddenly an alien drops down from the ceiling and takes a swipe at you. You pull the trigger and unleash a stream of lead into the alien's face. Your radar suddenly goes crazy, you look around and your surrounded by aliens. Your time as a Marine is up... Coup de Grace.

I love that.

LOL it was great hearing the aliens scurry through the vents and seeing the vents move and when you first go into that base and you see the work of the preds (skinned bodies) and then you're in that locker room and one of the teammates says on the comm we got company and you look around and you see the door being dented by huge bangs biggrin:

Ya if you really want to shit yourself play the human campaign , the predator and alien ones dont seem that scary I guess its because preds have the advanced technology and aliens can climb ceilings biggrin:

I havent played the Marine version on MP yet, but I guess the reason why the Alien and Predator is not scary is because you are the hunter. That's the way it was in the movies. Also you kinda feel less sympathetic towards the Alien or Predator since they are animals. As a human you can relate to the felling that person may have. I know that makes no since sense this is a game, but you know...

Hmm... Thats the opposite of me. I enjoyed hunting down the humans. Esspecially as an alien because it was a challenge. It would be cool if you could knock their gun out of their hands and then they beg for their lives. I'd probaly leave them there for my family to eat.

Why should humans be spared? The preds are just as smart and evolved, if not more than us. Who says that they don't fear their own death?
