Default My Matrix Reloaded review - 05-14-2003, 03:04 AM

Well, I saw the Matrix Reloaded tonight...and you didn't. Hahahaha!

Write this down folks...its good to know people in high places who work at movie theatres.

My buddy is the Assistant Manager at the second biggest theatre in Calgary, 14 or 16 screens I believe with full sound. They have 7 copies of the Matrix and had to run them to see if they all worked at 12:00am. So he managed to get me and 6 other of our friends into a theatre by ourselves for the real deal. And man it was awesome. I won't give away any spoilers unless someone wants me to, but I think you'll want to see this one on your own.

Heres my unedited, un-proof read oOo: , and sloppy review of stuff i thought to write down for you. What can I say about this movie? Well, It is very different from the first. If you were to ask me which was better, I wouldn't beable to tell you right now...I would need to see Reloaded once more. But their tough to compare. In the first we follow neo around and really feel for him and his search. In the second it is a much broader spectrum. A bigger portion on the movie deals with outside the matrix and Zion. Theres more sex in this one and definitley more blood. thats not to say its a horror movie or anything, the first had almost no blood, this has some.

The overall storyline for me right now is a bit confusing. I haven;t had much time to think about it as I just got home and its 2:37am. I will say that its probably necessary to see this movie more than once to get all the facts. That being said, the general jist of what is going on is easy to understand, some of the finer details are a little shady.

If you haven't seen the first matrix, shame on you, but you will enjoy this movie. It may be a bit confusing, but if you understad the basics of the movie, it shouldn't be too hard. Everyone will beable to appreciate reloaded. the fight sequences and scenes that take place inside the matrix are astounding. When you see he movie take a look at their surroundings and you will see the fine detail that went into this movie. Almost every frame of this movie has some digital/computer generated information. The fight sequences seem to last for 10 minutes. they are definitley long, and the chase scene is around 14 minutes I was told, but didn;t time it...i was to involved to look at my watch.

Reloaded is only half of a movie. the other half is Revolutions which comes out later this year. keep this in mind as the end abruptly leaves you hanging and asking questions. There are many questions to ponder about this movie in relation to the upcoming one. I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

One other thing...there is a short 1 minute trailer at the very end of the credits. The ending credits are like 10 minutes. They thank everyone including the witchoski (sp) brothers driver and the "paint runner" for the freeway set. if you can sit through those you'll get a very short and minesquile taste of revolutions. You can't really tell anything from the mini trailer, its just a bunch of video put together with no real plot.

My advice: See this movie. The more I think of it, the more I like it. I ahd my doubts in the beginning, because it wasn't as good as the first...i thought...but that is subsiding now. Anyway, its sleepy time now.

sleep:

I am definitely planning to see it. I just recently saw The Matrix Part 1 (astounded?) and I absolutely loved it. I'll probably see it again.

I immediately installed Max Payne with the matrix mod after seeing the movie. Bullet time...
