ok, playing vice city tonight iv got the the mission "driver" now to start the plot to the mission is retarted, you want the guy to be a driver for you to do some hiest, but before he will do it you have to race him. so next scene your out on the road, he gets a sabre turbo (equivelent of a mustang) &you get a sentre (equivilent of a geo), you then have to race him trough the city trough checkpoints. now i have nothing wrong with a good chalange but this is rediclous, no matter how much you bash the guy into poles or with your car he dosent get damaged (but of course your car gets saverly damaged), the cops decided they want to chase you for street racing so you have cops coming left & right trying to hit you head on, do they go after him? of course not. even when dragging along side at full throttle you cant catch him. now i love a good challange but it is fucking rediculous, im sure its possable to do but after what? iv tried turning the cops off, spawning fast cars, everything. i love the game but the dipshit who programmed this this mission should be fired. anyways, end of rant... carry on...

Two tips you might want to try,

1st, before you start the mission, get the fastest car available to you, and one you are comfortable with driving.
Park it outside the Malibu and then go into the club. before you race, jump out of the car you get and into the fast one youve chosen. this is time consuming though and i never managed it that way.

I beat the guy quite easily though, by driving along side him and forcing him into a building so he hits it head on, and you just scrape along the pavement. This gives you some time to get ahead and he never caught up with me.
As for the cops, a bit of car weaving and a little bit of luck and the mission becomes quite fun.
The thing i didnt understand is by beating him, youve just proven yourself to be a better driver than he is, so why let him be the getaway driver?

I got stuck on the Rescue Lance mission and said fuck it for right now. Couldnt find a car with enough armor. Someone told me there was an ARMORED TRUCK, but never could find it.

for the rescuse lance mission i got pissed with him dying when i was 1 foot infront of him...so i spawned the panzer. il give the vice city mission anonther shot once iv got my upgrade. anyways thanks for the tips. by the way i tried leaving cars out front then hopping into them, dosent work, it just dissapears after you start the mission, man id love to use the stock car.

its like sex, starts off slow & easy then after about 20 missions its face paced, real hard action. then it does the same over again, im doing the malabu missions right now, their all pretty dumb for the malabue, first dumb ones iv run into in the game. oh btw, where can i find that little chopper you use in the one film mission? the float plane is still there but i cant find the little chopper again.

not a mustang its a nova ... and the first time thru that game i owned that mission in one tries. you should know that car pretty well since its the one you find all over the city ... the lance mission wasnt that hard either ... i think it took me two trys ... the second time there was a big ass garbage truck there and i used it to get to the hospital ... easiest way to do that mission is to go get lance in some huge truck ..

its harder with 10fps, my mp5 sounds like a bolt actiong rifle when in a big shoot out. it really gets bad. normally its ok though.

Another tip for the driver is to get your wnted level up to atleast 3 stars. I suggest throwing a grenade into the crowd at malibu. Wait a little then start the mission. There is a good chance that as the mission is starting a cop car will crash into the guy your racing which gives you a good head start. Another thing was be to edit the handling.cfg in your favor.
