I checked out a Breakthrough Q&A over at [url:cb8c1]http://www.computerandvideogames.com[/url:cb8c1] where they interviewed EA product manager Dave Rosen about the new expansion:

Will Breakthrough owners still be able to play those who don't own it online?

Rosen: For multiplayer online you can play against anyone who's running the basic Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault and/or Spearhead.
Breakthrough will be compatible with Spearhead, and of course you'll need the original Allied Assault to play it - but you don't need Spearhead to play it.


I'm not quite sure but I think that means that when you try and join a game in MP, it will show all the servers, from AA to SH to BT, and that you can join anyone of them.

If you do not have Breakthrough installed you wont be able to join a server. It's backwards compatible not forwards.

Dunno if he posted it here, but Rudedog submitted questions to the devs, and got some generous responces. Some were ones we wish we didn't hear, but at least it shed some light on the new expansion.
