I "was" in a clan and everything was all nice and I was good enough to have console power. the only other person beside teh clan leader to have console power is his friend or something. His friend also has a clan and I play there sometimes.

So one day I went to his sever and everything was going on nicely until I was killed twice in crossroad the map. My compass showed he killed me from right in front of me and I heard a shotgun firing very loud. I was in a room and I didn't see a damn thing. I thought ok fine he was hiding somewhere. He did the same shit again only he fired 3 times. When I first got hit the first time I went into shotgun dodge mode: strafe jump left, crouch, look around. I didn't see anything and he shot twice more and killed me in the room with the stairs. when I got killed I got suspicious. I went into spectator mode and wanted to know where he was. When I saw him in spect he was invisible!!! I couldn't see anything at all. He was walking but I couldn't see him.

I confronted him and he denied it and told me to look for him down the road. Suprise he's there walking down the street with a shotgun. I killed him with my M1Grand. He was yelling and screaming about how I'm accusing him of cheating on his sever. He wanted me to apologize and I did only because he knew my clan leader.

We went on to play on Destroyed Village. I was under the bell tower and I got killed with 2 shotgun shots. Again I went into spectator mode and saw him invisible again. I team messaged my teammate (who was in my clan) and told him to look at him and see if he's invisible as proof. My team mate came back and said in "text all mode" that he didn't see him cheating. That cheating hacker threatened to boot me. I told him I'll leave on my own.

So now 2 days later, I'm going into my clan's sever and I find out I was banned. I didn't tell my clan leader about what happened because they both know each other and I thought it might have been a glitch or something in the game that I didn't see his character.

So I just want to know if there is a hack for patch 1.11 that allow you to go invisible. And if you can turn it on and off quickly. Because As soon as I stopped watching him he must have done something to make himself visible again. Btw his clan is the [J:H:F], and he is the clan leader. His name is [J:H:F]Widowmaker. its possible for sure..a lot of cheats like that have a panic button..if your using it and get caught at it you hit a key..and preso..things are back to normal...so yes..its intirely possible. if thats the case..thats not a group you want to be with anyway..be glad you found out and move on.

No, there's no cheat to make yourself invisible, it's a bug.

Sadly, you've accused him of cheating when he wasn't and probably meritted your banning.

It's a glitch where any one player can appear invisible to you and you alone - It's totally a local error. To fix it simply type "vid_restart" in the console and it should fix it - failing that reconnecting will fix the error (for you or the person who is invisible).

Your friend who spectated him would have been able to see him so it would seem that you were making it up.

Sorry, that's all I can do to help you - if you really want to be in the clan still then I'd suggest contacting them and saying sorry and that you now know what it was that was causing it.

Other than that, they were well within their rights to kick you really - Never accuse or confront someone of cheating (especially a clan mate, lol) until you are absolutely 100% sure.

I imagine he has, based on his post and the amount of his posts. I just hope he's been back to read what has been said so he can prevent it happening again.

only one player???

that bug made half the other team and half of my team invisible!!!
the funny thing is I killed a couple of the "invisible" guys just by blasting the hell out of the common "camp spots" for this map. Eventualy I got wise and vid restarted.

(Also in one of these bugs you see a frozen "shell" of the player, that tells you it's a graphics SNAFU)

No, any one player. Not just one.

The shell thing only happens on Objective game mode, so far as I remember. So that isn't always there to give the hint. I normally realise someone is invisible when I get killed and don't know the location of the same killer more than once or twice in a row. With 5.1 audio and headphones it's very easy to pinpoint where someone is shooting you from and if I can't see someone where they should be I instantly go into spec.

I have had this happen to me on both the destroyed village and the bridge (tdm version) where the shell is visible yet the player is running around unseen.

vid_restart works every time for this.

well there are ways to make everyone in the server invisible for a short time, but thats everyone. otherwise, its not possible.

i think Ydiss got this one, but also try forcing models...

yes that is true but he could be a skilled modder making his own mods and crap for himself ed:

It's a local error, or clientside. This means that happens because your (you being the person who can't see the other player(s)) have a fault on your game that prevents you from seeing one player (or model as PAS pointed out).

In no way can another client force you to see, or not see, anything (besides models like the submarine and other weird things). They cannot go onto your PC and make the model they are using (stored on your PC) invisible. It's just impossible (in any game).

The only way they could make themselves invisible to you is by using an invisible skin that you have also got on your PC. Which would be stupid of you biggrin:

I haven't seen the vid_restart issue for quite awhile, it's possible that it may only derive from MOH:AA and not in Spearhead. It's also possible that the modification that the devs put it that prevents the drawing of models when they are not fully in view, may have stopped this problem.

A good question to interview the breakthrough devs with would have been to see if this "draw models" modification was put into their game. I hope not, as they said the game is based more on MOH:AA than Spearhead.
