Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2K4 - To me my golf fans -
10-01-2003, 03:00 PM
Its out. Some are calling it the BEST Arcade Golf game to date. I gotta agree. The game looks damn sure spiffy. If only I knew how to swing. ANYWAY - for those who know how, definately grab this game so that we can set up some private tournaments. You wont be able to connect to EA's Servers, but you can direct connect to play against others. I know I'm the whitest boy here, but there's GOTTA be some Golf fans.

I love golf, and I've played the XBOX demo of TW2K4, it's really nice. Only minor alterations in the gameplay from 2K3, though.

I still play TIger Woods '99...heh heh.
I tried the demo for 2002 (I think) and hated the swing interface. Thrusting the mouse back and up really sucked ass.
Does this new game allow you to do the old 3-click swing? If it does, I'm sold.

No, I don't believe so. But I liked the swing for the new ones, makes it easier, I think.

On create a GOLFER, you have a choice of Swing interface. Granted this is the FIRST time I've played a golf game, and still dont know how to swing yet, but this is info I got from izonews forum. So Zoner - get to it! Grab the game folks and lets get going.

Ok, this game kicks ass. Ive played it and yes Zoner, if you want you can go back to the 3-click method with the power gauge. Although the TRUE GAUAGE system is actually pretty good, although I did run into a few glitches using the mouse. It's best with a wireless, although the optical works great. Courses look really cool, and the animations are sick. That an NO CD KEY REQUIRED for buddy to buddy play. Of course if you want to keep track of your gay ass stats and what not you can certainly join EA ONLINE.

And let me just update my impressions of this game by saying it is incredible. The courses are fucking AWESOME, and some are genuinely piss-you-off-worthy. There are 19 courses in all, and certainly for the PC people more than likely will design there own for play, along with adding in textures and what-not for their balls and decals.
The graphics are good, although there are some noticeable "glitches" when you're watching your ball fly high in the air, and land straight in a fucking lake. Sometimes the computer does animations, like check it's gloves even though you're not wearing any gloves. The True Click system and 3 click system both have their advantages and disadavantages. Personally I favor the True Click since it is alot easier to control.
I've heard people razz the commentators, but they do a good job of sounding off when you've hit a good shot, and when your stroke was absolute shit. There are lessons, and practice modes where you can be randomly challanged. contests range from distance, to a regular Match game - I've yet to Stroke-Play someone (wow that sounds dirty).
All in all, kick ass golf game, and if u arent a golf fan, youll totally become one after playing this.
Theres also a HELLA sweet Tiger Woods golf shot in the videos folder - and afterward appropiately he asks "how the hell did I do that".
