This damn popup will show up every once and a while saying ive got a virus detected and to run avg. So, everytime I run the stupid avg it will say "no viruses found" and I'm like WTF??! So I try searching for that folder and aparently c:/system/volume information doesn't exist...or at least thats what it says if I try and search for it...any suggestions on how I can get rid of this problem? (btw I have adaware and spy hunter and they dont come up with anything either....so if you want me to dl some program plz be specific as to which program to dl and if possible provide link) thanks.

Yeah, bugs can come from just about anything. scan each and every file before you open it.
Eames, try getting Norton 04 on your system, its very effective in finding bugs in your system and will give you the option of fixing the infected file before deleting them. Every time I get a virus, ive been able to fix it with norton; havent come across a single bug that outsmarted it.

Instead of an antivirus software, you need ad/spyware/trojan removal-ware instead.
Try PestPatrol or AdAware, I personally use AdAware, I think the URL to download is http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Try PestPatrol then, or update reference file on ad aware. That's all I could think of.

You don't download any virus programs after you have a virus, you morons. I would suggest doing what that msg says, run AVG for windows, as long as that's a program you know and trust. If not, boot the system in SAFE MODE, and follow the path, and delete the file by hand. It looks like a System Restore Point, and it should be safe to delete.

I wonder if people even read post before replying to them?
However the file type/folder may be a hidden one and likly wouldnt show up in a search. You may want to look into your settings to make sure your seeing everything and windows isnt hiding files. It like to to "protect" itself from novice users.

I wonder the same to you, Misc. Note how I typed SAFE MODE in caps. Maybe next time I should make it ginormous, like you did.

So safe mode automatically reveals hidden files? Makes all strings visible? It also makes virus programs find viruses that it couldnt before... wow, the wonders of safe mode i had never known.
I did read your post. i was just unaware SAFE MODE had such incredible powers. Hell im running my PC in safe mode from now on.
ps: I made it "ginormous" for you.
